How care begins
Some situations do not fit a quick answer. If you have felt misunderstood, received more than one diagnosis, or tried treatments that fell short, you can start here. The first visit is ninety minutes. We use it to put together a single coherent picture: how your body and brain are working, what has happened in your life, and the patterns in your relationships. Treatment follows from that picture.
Medication can create stability. Therapy can help with what keeps the difficulty going. In this practice the two are planned together, with one clinician looking at both, so you are not left to join the pieces yourself. Some people want medication, some want therapy, and many want both; the plan is built around you.

Board-certified psychiatrist and founder of The Brian Center. Dr. Nyberg practices a calm, collaborative kind of psychiatry — one that treats emotion and cognition together, listens before it prescribes, and stays reachable. Every visit is with a board-certified psychiatrist (a medical doctor — an M.D.) — no six-month wait.
The practice specializes in complex psychiatric cases where other treatments have fallen short. The work is careful diagnostic formulation: listening to the whole story, then building a clear account of what is happening and why. Medication is used deliberately, and talk therapy is part of the same care. The aim is a plan that makes sense to you.
